Investing In Facilities and Infrastructure Conference 2018

Why Sports - Investing in Facilities and Infrastructure 2018

Why Sports LogoWhy Sports Media Group is a social enterprise business. Through various events and online activity, they seek to ensure all government policy related to sport & activity is disseminated to key delivery agents, wider stakeholders and interested parties.

This November is Why Sports’ conference; Investing in Facilities and Infrastructure 2018 at the Royal Society of Medicine in London.

The conference concentrates on the leisure industry and, within that, facilities and infrastructure. It looks at how developing and improving these key areas benefits our health in the long-run.

By improving these key areas, we improve the opportunity for people to be more active and engage with the community and in sport. This is especially important when two-thirds of adults and one-third of 11 to 15-year-olds in England are either obese or overweight. By 2034, the proportion of adults overweight or obese is set to reach 70 per cent.

Where does 2EA come in?

We understand the importance of keeping fit. But we understand more the importance of maintaining and improving facilities and infrastructure, not just for the well being of its customers, but for the energy saving and improvement of the operations as a whole.

We have sponsored the conference as Why Sports’ single brand partner in energy management. We will also have a stand at the event for delegates to come and discuss this important side of the leisure industry.

If you are attending you can book an appointment or just pop along to our stand.

What to expect at the conference?

Some of the speakers include Steven Ward, CEO of UK Active, and Charles Johnson, a director from Sport England. They will cover topics such as the development of the latest Sport England delivery pilot projects and the wide range of accessible funding opportunities available across the public, private and third party sectors. The conference also covers Sport England’s commitment to invest approximately 16% of its £250m grassroots funds in facilities over a five year period.

The Why Sports Investing in Facilities and Infrastructure conference will provide an inclusive platform to promote positive debate around the importance of delivering inspiring and sustainable facilities and infrastructure.
